LFM Network Meeting: Advancing Fire Management Strategy in Banja Luka

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska, in collaboration with the Regional Fire Monitoring Center (RFMC), hosted the fifth LFM network meeting on the 13th of June. Financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and coordinated by Farmahem, the event gathered over 20 participants from various sectors to address landscape fire management (LFM).

The primary goals were to discuss the progress of the Adaptive LFM Strategy and present the final LFM Report for the Republic of Srpska.

Mr. Slavko Stupar opened the meeting, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in strategy development. Mr. Cvetan Nikolovski, the LFMWB Project Team Leader, highlighted the shared commitment to creating a comprehensive strategy for landscape fire management. He stressed the importance of the strategic document and the crucial contributions from all stakeholders.

Mr. Miroslav Rakita, Country Project Staff in Banja Luka presented the final LFM Report and outlined the progress of the Adaptive LFM Strategy. Moreover, the participants engaged in group discussions, focusing on regional cooperation and translating strategies into tangible actions. The collaborative ideas and plans developed during the event will direct future efforts, aiming for a resilient and safeguarded landscape.
